Karthik Subramaniam, a student of Bangalore, signed with SRIRAM LAW ACADEMY’s 2-year online program and followed it up with 1-month Crash Course in April 2018. He secured a top rank in CLAT 2018, which has led him to Nalsar Law University, Hyderabad.

Here’s the excerpts of his interview with the Sriram Team:

Karthik Subramaniam
AIR 89 [CLAT 2018]

SLA: You have achieved a top rank in CLAT 2018.  How does it feel?
Karthik: The fact that I’ll be pursuing law at a top National University is definitely a very exciting prospect. I believe that the people whom you surround yourself with define who you become, which is why I'm delighted that I'll be able to study with the top minds of this country.

SLA: When did you start preparing for CLAT 2018?
Karthik: I signed up for Sriram’s online Achievers Course as soon as I completed my 10th boards in 2016 as I was pretty certain that I wanted to pursue law as a career. However, actual preparations towards cracking CLAT started at around May-June 2017. My preparation slowly gained momentum and I was focused only on CLAT once I completed my 12th boards. Signing up for Sriram’s Rapid course was definitely the best decision I took as it aided me in channelizing my efforts in the right direction, which eventually got me where I am now.

SLA: Describe the role played by Sriram Law Academy in your success.
Karthik: I will be eternally grateful towards Sriram Law Academy for the role it played in my journey towards cracking CLAT. The books provided by Sriram are concise and well detailed. The Legal Reasoning and Legal Awareness volumes are extremely well written and formed the basis of almost all my preparation in these areas. I would recommend all students taking up CLAT to enroll themselves in the Sriram Rapid course. The daily tests, coupled with the excellent coaching by teachers, played a very important role in my preparation. At the end of it, it is the mental state of a student that plays a crucial role in whether he/she cracks CLAT or not.

SLA: Would you like to share some tips with our students who are gearing up for the 2019 examination?
Karthik: I urge everyone to "work smart." Do not work on the same topic repeatedly. Analyse your weaknesses and try to work on them specifically. Do not get demoralized if you do not perform well in your mocks. While they are essential, they are not perfect indicators of your preparation and readiness. Continue working towards your goal of cracking CLAT  with a focused mind irrespective of what adversities you may face.
I wish you all the best! See you at NALSAR! :)
